Food City is a nice grocery store overall but just how nice depends on location. The Piney Flats store is good- so is Bluff City. Staff are always helpful and hey, ya can't ignore the gas discounts!
Closest supermarket to me, and the store is very nice with friendly employees. It would be a 5 star but the prices at food city are high vs competitors like krogers, and even other food cities in the area.
i have been in Blountville for 6 months now. Food City is where we shop. I like the store. They stay fairly well stocked and the staff is excellent. I have one question. I will preface it by saying I have purchased fried chicken and chicken tenders on a few different occasions at this store. My question is: how old is this chicken? It is dry, tasteless and hard. I have purchased fried chicken in many places and this chicken falls way short. It actually tastes old. Please keep the chicken fresh and hot. You would sell a good bit more if you do. Hoping for improvement.
This is my favorite grocery store, never ever have trouble finding anything. Staff does not just pretend to be friendly, #1, they are trained; I.e. you will never check out that they do not ask if you found everything you needed, #2 they really are friendly you can tell it's just not an act. Fresh food, convenient hot or packaged. And by the way; best butchers in the Tri City area in my opinion (and I don't know them personally).
